A storm system that swept across the US from the plains to the East Coast — bringing dust storms, hurricane-force winds, violent tornadoes and heavy rain. The National Weather Service of the United States said on the evening of the 15th that in the past two days, it had received reports of more than 40 tornadoes in eight states.
