CMA cooperates with meteorological enterprises to promote social observation

On October 30, the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) invited some meteorological enterprises such as China's Weather, Moji weather, Sina weather and Caiyun weather to discuss and deploy the development tasks of social meteorological observations, and decided to set up an action team this year.

As an important part of the integrated meteorological observation system, social meteorological observation data plays an important role in disaster preparedness and reduction, ecological civilization construction, and people's safety and well-being. This year, CMA issued series of documents to encourage the public, enterprises, social institutions and others to participate in observations, and standardize social meteorological observation activities to normalize the collection, processing and application of observation data and related big data. 

Relying on the China Meteorological Service Association, the CMA will organize more than 100 meteorological enterprises such as Huafeng Meteorological Media Group, Moji Weather, Caiyun Weather and other meteorological media and equipment manufacturers to establish a social meteorological observation action team. The team will formulate standards and technical specifications related to social meteorological observations in accordance with the laws and regulations, and unify the technical indicators, sharing processes and processing methods of data collection.
