According to a report by CCTV News, on the 25th local time, in Phoenix, the capital of Arizona, and nearby areas such as Gilbert, strong winds swept up vast amounts of Sand and Dust Storm(SDS), even forming a "dust wall" that enveloped the entire city. American meteorologists explained that this type of SDS is known as a haboob. It occurs when a thunderstorm-generated downburst forces cold air to collide with the ground and spread outward, with strong winds reaching speeds of 50 to 90 miles per hour (approximately 80 to 145 kilometers per hour). These powerful winds lift large amounts of sand and dust, forming a continuously moving "dust wall," which is referred to as a haboob.

According to CNN, the SDS hit Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, causing flight delays and damage to the terminal roof. Additionally, data from a U.S. power outage tracking website showed that after the SDS, more than 60,000 households in Arizona experienced power outages. However, electricity has now been largely restored following repair efforts.
